Girls, Girls, Girls!

Here are Art Nouveau interpretations of some of my ladyfriends (I was on a BIG Art Nouveau kick last year).  I only make friends with pretty people so I can use them as models someday. J/K. I think I'm going to display these soon, I just want to put a little more work into their crown/halo things.

PeaceLove Poster

Here's a poster I did for PeaceLove Studios featuring my friend Andrea (who is also an amazing artist!) in the style of Art Nouveau-inspired Rock posters from the 60's and 70's.  Excuse the flash, I have to get a better picture of this...

Providence Art Window

Here are a couple images from the installation that Providence designer Eric Rice and I did for Providence Art Windows in Spring of 2009.  It was installed at the corner of Union St. and Eddy St. in Downcity Providence and featured a forest scene at night (whic Eric made from scrap wood) and 26 oil paintings of albino animals.  They ranged in size from a 2"x2" moth to a 6 foot tall buck.  Contact me if you're interested in buying any animal paintings, as I still have a few left!

Providence Art Windows won "Best Public Art" in Rhode Island Monthly that year, and they used an image of our window in the article!

Providence Paintings (acrylic)

I did a small series of paintings of iconic Providence landmarks that I sold through the boutique I've been working for, Homestyle.  There was one of the Bank of America (or "Superman") building that I forgot to get a picture of before it sold (I do that way too often, it's really dumb of me).  The one of the State House is actually hanging IN the Statehouse because the Lt. Governer of RI, Elizabeth Roberts, bought it! Neat, huh?

"Isaiah is Pissed" and "St. Patricia" (oil)

Here are two oil paintings from 2009... the first is of my neighbor at the time, an awesome little kid named Isaiah, holding a turtle.  The second one is of my good friend Tricia, being all saint-like with lambies.  She and her husband live in West Virginia now and do their own art.  Check em out!

PeaceLove Studios Window Display



Over the past couple of years I've done a bunch of work for PeaceLove Studios in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.  They are a fantastic organization that uses art to raise awareness and erase the stigma associated with mental illness.  These images are from the entryway, where I painted a "wallpaper" with stripes and a stenciled version of their logo and then hung framed paintings of the words "peace" and "love" in different fonts and languages.  I had a lot of fun working within this color palette, it reminded me of candy.

Boxers (oil)

I just found this old caricature-style portrait of my family's dogs, Bogie and Shamus. Shamus passed away last year, but at least I know he made it to Rainbow Bridge. I've been meaning to get this framed for my mom. She loves her "boys".

Headdress Skateboard (pencil, ink, acrylic)

This is another skateboard deck I painted for a 2009 group show.  I enjoyed using mixed media on this - leaving parts in pencil and not filling everything in gave it an unfinished look.

Alligator Skateboard (acrylic)

Here's a skateboard deck I painted for a group show in 2008.  It was my first albino animal that I painted, and I quickly became OBSESSED. The range of colors you find on these white animals is crazy, and the translucence of their skin makes them appear almost alien-like.  Fun stuff.
