La Perla

This is a drawing I did back in school, when I spent RISD Wintersession in Puerto Rico.  It's a mixed media piece showing La Perla - a poverty-stricken town nestled at the foot of this 500 year-old fort, El Morro.  The juxtaposition of the historical landmark and this cluster of colorful houses is just crazy in real life.  I used photocopies of old maps I found in the archives of the Old San Juan Library.  This was published in the Puerto Rican newspaper, El Nuevo Dia.

Philip Stein Watch

This is a watch I designed for PeaceLove Studios in Pawtucket, RI.  Designer Philip Stein collaborated with PeaceLove Studios to create a series of limited edition art watches featuring artists supporting their cause.  They retail for $225.00 and part of the proceeds help pay for PaintForPeace Classes for local youth.  These watches became available in April 2011 at Nordstrom, Bloomingdale's, and Barney's (swanky, eh?).  You can also purchase them through PeaceLove's Website.

Elkheart Films

Here's a little logo I started working on for my friend Tara Austin's production company, Elkheart Films.  I'm also working on a poster design for her beautiful film, Funks Grove, which I had the opportunity to work on in Illinois in the summer of 2009.  As part of a small Art Department, I got to build sets and props and help with make-up and costume. SO fun!! I cannot wait until it premieres! I'll post the final logos and poster designs when they're complete.
